Back to the saucy swinging Sixties

Chippenham's fledgling Etcetera Theatre Company embarks on its second production from Thursday until Saturday, at the Neeld Hall, Chippenham.

The players have chosen Alan Bennett's saucy early comedy Habeas Corpus.

The play is an observation of life in the Sixties when the constraints and privations of the Second World War had finally been pushed aside and promiscuity was in full swing.

The action revolves around the surgery of Dr Arthur Wicksteed in Brighton's plush, silk stockinged district of Hove' and over a period of two days we see a chronicle of philandering and double standards from which few of the characters emerge with honour.

Tickets from (01249) 446446.
