Devizes grandad Tony Watts has died after suffering a heart attack while on holiday in Torquay. He was 58.
Mr Watts, one of four sons of Joan and Bert Watts, was born in Turnpike Cottage, Potterne Road, now demolished.
He was educated at Southbroom Secondary Modern School, now Devizes School.
He had many jobs during his career, including working for Moore & Bush and Cross Manufacturing.
He married in 1973 and he and his wife had two children, James and Rachael, and six grandchildren, Kyran, Tyler, Harry, Lily, Chloe and Faith.
He was a keen railway enthusiast and would travel the country in pursuance of his hobby. He was also a keen gardener.
He was taken to hospital in Plymouth, where he suffered a second heart attack and finally a stroke.
He died in hospital on July 11.
The funeral for him is due to take place at St James’ Church, Devizes, on Monday at 3pm with a family service at West Wiltshire Crematorium afterwards. Mourners are invited to a reception at the Hourglass public house in Horton Avenue, Devizes, following the church service.
