Form 5B at Devizes Grammar School in 1959 or 1960. If you have memories to share, contact Diana Deal at ddeal@gazetteandherald.co.uk
Former Devizes Grammar School pupil Richard Giles has written about the photograph he sent of form 5B in 1959 or 1960.
He heard from Bob Biggs (back, 2nd left), John Hoare, (back 1st right), Elizabeth Bailey (front, 1st right), Rachel Ellis (front 3rd right), Chris Giddings and Neville Stanton.
The group has now identified everyone.
Middle row is Valerie Benjafield, Cora Hocquard, Ruth Pyne, Gillian Bird, Christine Gradidge. Front, from left, are Annabel Gilbert, Elizabeth Haines, Ann Greenaway, Rachel Ellis, Elizabeth Bailey and Ann Earl. He had not seen some of the school friends for 50 years.
meanwhile Geoff Ayres has emailed about the picture of a wedding taken in Everleigh in 1912 and published in Your Memories on January 27.
It showed bride and bridegroom Mary Ann Ayres and William Greenhill.
Mr Ayre’s great-grandparents are to the right of the bride and all the siblings of Mr Ayres’ grandfather are also shown, including two who were among the millions killed in the First World War.
Mr Ayres’ grandfather Frank was not photographed at the wedding, on March 29, 1912, and was possibly absent because of the imminent birth of Mr Ayres’ father.
Mr Ayres, who lives in Rudgwick, West Sussex, writes: “The likeness between myself and Annie, the bride, is remarkable.”
