Former group member Raymond E. Mundin sent us this photograph of the 3rd Chippenham St Mary's Scout Group.
The photograph was taken outside St Mary's Church Hall in St Mary's Place, Chippenham in 1947.
The group, which is still going today, was started as a Catholic group in 1943 and it was opened up to other faiths in 1948.
Mr Mundin, 66, was a Scout from 1952 to 1976, and particularly values the outdoor life and the friendship that arose from Scouting.
"It's the camping and outdoor life that I most enjoyed, the basic things that Scouting offers," he said.
"It's also the comradeship. There was a gang of us and we were, and still are, friends."
Mr Mundin is researching the history of the group and is particularly anxious to find out about when the how the Cubs started.
He has managed to contact the first patrol leader, Tony Bollen, who still lives in the Chippenham area.
He would like anyone connected with the group to contact him on (01249) 650729 or to email him at rmundin@talktalk.net
The names of the group - provided by Peter Jagger and Peter Rawsthorne, both of whom are in the 1947 photograph - are as follows:
