John glad to have moved Else-where
John Else says Chippenham Town boss Adie Mings' reputation of trusting young players attracted him to the club.
The 18-year-old has been snapped up from Cirencester Town and is finally eligible to play at Mangotsfield United on Saturday, after two weeks of training with the Bluebirds.
It brings and end to a frustrating time at the Corinium Stadium for Else and he is pleased to have joined the Hardenhuish Park ranks.
"I didn't play regularly, but that was down to my age, which I didn't really agree with," he said.
"It wasn't a valid reason. They would say they wouldn't want me to play in certain games because it might be too physical.
"I started 11 games and got six man of the match awards and I was in and out of the team.
"I am not 100 per cent sure what Adie's plans are but I am happy to be here, I know he has faith in young players."
Like almost all of Mings' signings Else is versatile and can play on the right or in the centre, although he prefers a central role.
And, with Scott Lye pulling a calf muscle in the 4-1 win over Gloucester City on Monday, he could be in line for his Bluebirds debut at Cossham Street on Saturday.
"I do like the centre but I play right midfield more," he said.
"At Ciren I played behind the strikers and I enjoyed that because there is lots of freedom to attack."
While he has been unable to play for the Bluebirds, Else bumped up his match fitness playing for Calne Town in their 2-1 defeat at home to Truro City, and excelled, claiming the man of the match award.
"It was a choice of going to Bedford and doing some running or going to play for Calne. I thought a game was much better," he said.
"I felt I did well and there were some good reports."
