Chippenham dancers take to the stage in Swindon
Students from the Classical Ballet Centre in Chippenham, put on a performance of the Wizard of Oz on Saturday at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon.

About 180 students took part in the production, including tap, modern and of course ballet and one highlight was 24 senior girls all on pointe in emerald green tutus, looking like a
professional corps de ballet.
All the children worked hard over the previous weeks rehearsals to ensure the performance was a success and, judging by the audience reaction, they certainly achieved it.
The main characters were Natasha Knight as Dorothy, Laura Hayes as Toto, Eva Alcock as the Scarecrow, Fleur Houdek as the Tin Man, Helen Morris as Glinda the good witch of the North and Kate Harborne as the Lion.
They followed the Yellow Brick Road and found the Emerald City playing their parts convincingly and dancing like prima ballerinas.
The role of the Wicked Witch of the West was brilliantly portrayed and perfectly danced by Lottie Long and her Head Flying monkey who was played by Elizabeth Tyzack gave an outstanding performance.
The Classical Ballet Centre is primarily based at Sheldon School, Chippenham, with branches in Malmesbury, Bathford and Bath.
The children attending the dance school range from three to adults studying The Royal Academy of Dance Ballet and The Imperial Society of Dance in both modern and tap.
