GARY Higdon's hat-trick maintained Melksham's impressive league form as their hopes of promotion were boosted by a draw for third-placed Gillingham.

Higdon was off the mark just two minutes in when he nudged Dan Kovacs' through ball into the net.

After 18 minutes the lead was doubled when Josh Robinson sent over a free kick and Kovacs powered home his 17th of the season.

Stu Greener saw a header tipped onto the bar before half time but at the midway point of the second half, Higdon netted his second as he headed hm Ian Jeffrey's cross.

Melksham had further chances before Higdon completed his treble - his second of the campaign.
