Wedding themed launch for Kington Langley salon

FormerR Hardenhuish School pupil Nikita Penfold is preparing to open her very own beauty salon this Spring, with a Wedding Show Extravaganza set for the launch day.

Miss Penfold, 22, of Steinbrook Farm in Kington Langley, completed a beauty therapy course at Chippenham College after leaving school at 16 in a bid to fulfill her dreams of one day running her own salon.

But Miss Penfold hopes to go one better on April 11, when she opens the salon at her home with a huge wedding show.

She said: “This is what I have always wanted to do my whole life. I was painting my nails at the age of four so I am very excited about the opening.

“At 16, the thought of going to college until I was 19 was quite daunting, but it just whizzed by and I loved every minute of it.

“I have got 40 plus stands coming for the Wedding Show so far, including horse-drawn carriages and a huge fashion show. I am going to be a wedding planner as well as running my own salon, so I will be very busy and it has taken a lot of organising but I really enjoy it and I have people to help me if I can’t cope.”

Miss Penfold, who gained her Level Two and Three NVQ in beauty therapy, currently works at Superdrug in Chippenham but in her spare time has built up a list of clients, working as a beauty therapist from a cabin in her garden.

When the building work on the new salon is complete, she will be able to offer mainstream therapies as well as more unusual treatments.

She said: “I will be offering Indian head massages as well as spray make up which is something I have learnt since college and isn’t available in many salons.

“I am hoping to employ other staff at the salon eventually but I will see how it goes, hopefully there will be interest.

“It is quite unusual to have a salon out in the country and we were worried about getting planning permission, but it all went through last summer with no problems at all.

“My mum thinks I’m crazy, but I’m just so excited about the opening.”

Nikita Beauty will open with a Wedding Show on April 11.
