SWIMMING: Myers leads medal rush

THE Chippenham club won 19 medals at the Wilts Youths Championship at Swindon’s Link Centre.

Charlotte Myers led the way with 50m breasstroke gold, also good enough for 3rd in the Junior Championships.

For the men, top swimmer was Jack Crow with two silvers and four bronze.

Crow also competed in the Senior Championship races finshing third in both the 100m butterfly and 200m backstroke.

Medallists for the girls included Beatrice Moore (three silvers), Emma Hollaway (two silvers and one bronze), Katie Smith (silver), Rachel Moore (silver and bronze), Chelsea Chard (two bronze) and Kalynn Branston (bronze).

John Branston, 13, swam the time trial 100m butterfly which was good enough for fifth in the Junior Championships.

Although not medalling , Lewis Wilson, Henry Moore , David Smith and Evie Preece all put in good performances.

Chippenham swimmers will now compete in the Youth Championships on Saturday and the start of the younger BAGCAT champs on Sunday.
