  • Thanks for kindness

On the afternoon of January 5, my aunt fell outside the old Post Office building in Devizes. May I sincerely thank all the kind people who came to her aid: calling an ambulance, waiting with her and even giving their coats to cover her as she lay on the wet pavement. read more

  • Who will lose out?

To oppose the development of an Asda store on the grounds that it is owned by a foreign company and that we would be losing vast numbers of highly skilled job opportunities is ridiculous. read more

  • Roads will get worse

The recent report in the Gazette regarding an increase in council tax of eight per cent, four times the rate of inflation, should make most of us question the competence of the people who make these decisions. read more

  • Thanks for honesty

My daughter came to visit from London and we went into Chippenham on January 18. Unfortunately she left her ring in the toilet, but only realised this after about half an hour. She saw the attendant and to her great joy, her ring had been handed in. read more

I fear the lady from Calne, who said in the Gazette recently that she would no longer go to the Sainsbury's there, due to lax security, but do her shopping in the Devizes branch instead, may be disappointed. read more
