    As a Wiltshire council tax payer, I hope the county council will stand firm against Ron Collier ("driver all set to sue the council") who plans to sue for compensation for damage to his car caused by a blown-down tree across the road. read more

    I ran the Swindon half marathon this year for the Wiltshire Blind Association. Although partially sighted myself, I finished the race in two hours, 18 minutes. read more

  • Grand total raised

    The Rotary Club of Devizes wish to take this opportunity of thanking everyone who responded to our Christmas Appeal for the Needy. Our efforts in the Brittox and at Morrison's raised £1,030, allowing us to respond to some very worthy local cause, including the distribution of food hampers. read more

    On Friday, December 14, I held a presentation evening where I presented £3,240, which was split four ways with each of the following charities receiving £810 each: CLIC Sargent, Breakthrough Breast Cancer (Wilts), Oxford Radcliffe Hospital and The Royal British Legion Malmesbury branch. read more

  • Yet another loss

    I would like to echo Dr Nick Maurice's comments in the letters page (December 20) and add that, as a resident of Manton for the past ten years, I have this year become a regular and new customer of the London Road Post Office. The convenience and service are first class and I am sure many other passing motorists, as well as the residents of Marlborough's east ward, feel the same. read more
