Happy birthday, Boss
Bruce Springsteen is 58 today. If a better album than "Born to Run" has ever been made, I'm not sure I could cope with hearing from it. From "Thunder Road", which Nick Hornby understandably refers to as the greatest song of all time to the haunting "Jungleland", there's never a duff moment. And that's without mentioning the epic title track. If Mr Springsteen had done just the one great album, like Pulp, Nirvana and (arguably) Ian Dury, then he would deserve his place in the pantheon of musical greats. But he's done more, much more. read more
