    I am seriously concerned to learn that Wiltshire County Council wishes to abolish Kennet and impose a unitary local authority. read more

  • Parish council should feel ashamed

    Yet another planning application has been put in to build a housing estate at Manor Farmyard in Urchfont. Urchfont Parish Council has decided it is a good idea to support this application. read more

  • Disgusted by views

    I was disgusted to read J Merrett's comments regarding the closure of Devizes Hospital (letters, February 1). It will be a great loss to small towns to lose their hospitals. read more

  • Who is responsible?

    Kennet District Council has now distributed wheelie bins and black boxes for us to recycle our rubbish. After they have been emptied, they are relatively light and easily blown around. read more

  • Free up switchboard

    Is it any wonder that Ian Thompson (letters, February 1) had to wait for 20 minutes to get traffic information from police HQ if the system is clogged up with calls like his? read more

  • Church still open

    I am writing to thank the firemen from Devizes Fire Station during the recent windy Thursday. The damage to the front window at St Andrew's Church was very sudden and extremely difficult for the firemen. They were just brilliant. read more

  • High price for a loo

    "I DON'T believe it," as Victor would say. Over half a million pounds to build a toilet in Devizes and that's excluding the price of the land. read more
