• Roads falling apart

  For weeks I've been trying to get some answers to the problem with the A360 from Devizes to West Lavington. This road was relaid in the past few years on the understanding that it would be finished soon afterwards. But it never was. read more

  As a founder member of Pewsey Vale Transport Appraisal Group, I am still interested in the fortunes of the Wiltshire Wigglybus and agree with the present PVTag chairman that this excellent service could suffer from being incorporated into the county fleet. read more

  The move by Wiltshire Police to close all but four of its enquiry offices is yet another step in the insidious separation of our police force from the public that it serves. read more

• Frightening prospect

  The decision by Wiltshire County Council to go for unitary status is a very serious threat. We have seen how they reacted to their financial deficit, cutting funding to those most vulnerable. read more

• Need common sense

  IN the January 2007 edition of the Devizes Rose' (Devizes Labour party flyer) I read with astonishment the leading article, which asked us to make a difference with regard to CO2 emissions. read more

• New health services will benefit all

  In recent weeks there have been questions about Wiltshire Primary Care Trust's plans for future healthcare provision across the county. read more

• Wrong over A-boards

  The council should get its priorities sorted out rather than worrying about A-boards in Marlborough High Street. read more

• In favour of proposal

  I would like to take issue with Carole Henson's letter (Gazette, February 8) objecting to the proposed development at Manor Farmyard, Urchfont. read more

• Tesco’s is welcome

  One of the most interesting points Nigel Kerton made in the article about Tesco in Marlborough (Gazette, January 18) was that Coun Michael Gray, vice-chairman of the Marlborough Town planning committee, had written pointing out the dangers of "an immediate degenerative spiral should out-of-town shopping be established here". read more

• Swindon has choice

  I must respond to the letters from Les Sanderson and Audrey Brodrick (January 25) about the Tesco proposal in Marlborough. read more

• Answers are required

  I WOULD like to congratulate the writers of recent letters to the Gazette about the impending closure of the Minor Injuries Unit and the Farmer Unit at Savernake Hospital. read more

• Managers should think before speaking

  I had to blink when I read Devizes Town manager's comments on the referee for his team's match against Bitton, (Gazette, February 1). read more

• Community policing?

  With reference to your article on police enquiry office closures (Gazette, February 8). Last year our council tax went up, nothing unusual about that. read more
