  • Corsham Centre in last 16

    WILTSHIRE SUNDAY CUP Corsham Centre, will join British Lion in the final 16 of the Wiltshire Sunday Cup after they defeated fellow Chippenham League side White Hart Combe to set up a home match with Swindon league side Wheatsheaf. Combe might have ended up losing to the Centre, but their manager Trevor Rawlings was very proud of his side and after 45 minutes they were the better of the two sides and had threatened a possible cup upset after Craig Fullham free kick had given them a 1-0 half time lead. White Hart Combe whose tenacity in the tackle in the first half ensured that they disrupted the Centre's passing game broke down on most occasions, with the closest the Centre came to scoring was when Simon Gray had a first time short turned over the bar. read more

  • Renegades surge to the top

    DIVISION FOUR Riverside Renegades are the new leaders of Division four, Lance Davis side earned a remarkable 5-1 victory over former leaders Corsham Centre B whose second loss in as many games saw them plummet from pole position down to fourth spot. Riverside lost Ian Hall in the first half after he was shown a red card when as last man he brought down a Centre player. The sending off seemed to bring the best out of the Riverside who were already leading thanks to a Joe Taylor goal. Lance Davis made it 2-0 and two more goals from Joe Taylor saw him complete a first half hat trick to give his team a surprised 4-0 half time lead. Oli Robinson scored his first goal for Riverside to make it 5-0 before tom Laver hit the Centre's consolation. read more

  • Little George close the gap

    DIVISION THREE Biddestone White Horse remain on the top of the third division table, but while they were exiting the knockout cup they also saw their lead at the summit narrowed to just one point by the Little George who romped to a 7-0 success over Pack Horse Rangers for whom it was their fourth loss on the spin. Ben Highmore signed off in style for the Little George before heading off to work in Canada with a hat trick, his first came when he headed home a Joe Forester cross to start the stampede. Another cross from Forester led to Justin Phillamore heading home Little George's second, Jack Coathupe, claimed goal number three although it was helped into the net by Rangers Craig Dore. Ben Highmore scored goals number four and five to seal his treble. Nat Auckland tapped home goal number six after keeper Del Llewellyn who had another fine match between the sticks for Rangers had saved Forester's initial shot. Forester who had help set up three of his teams goals finally got on the score sheet himself with the seventh and final goal. Little George should have added an eight but somehow from what looked to be an unmissable position Nathan Phillamore missed a sitter. read more

  • Bremhill View take advantage

    DIVISION TWO With both Cooper Avon and Crown Cosmos in knockout cup action, Bremhill View Social Club who were in third spot in division two before the start of play took full advantage of their rivals league inactivity and leapfrogged Cosmos and closed the gap on leaders Cooper Avon to just one point thanks to their 1-0 victory over Audley FC. Bremhill defeated Audley 2-1 in October and they completed their league double thanks to player/manager Martin Belcher who came off the bench to score the winning goal in the second half of a very even contest. read more

  • Kingfisher claim controversial win

    DIVISION ONE A thrilling game between two old rivals saw a controversial ending as Christian Malford had what appeared to be a good goal disallowed as Kingfisher scored with the last kick of the match to take a 2-1 win. Although the first half ended scoreless, Malford had the majority of the chances with Kingfisher keeper Mark Bolton making several fine saves to deny James Pope on three occasions as well as other Malford forwards. Malford also hit the crossbar. Kingfisher were also dangerous on the break and just before half time had four chances from a corner to take the lead, Malford managing to stop all four efforts with bodies. read more
