  IN the days of Marlborough Town Council, it was common practice for the street drains to be washed and cleaned twice a year, in the Spring to remove winter debris and in the autumn ready for winter salt. read more

  I was interested to read in the Gazette that the former RAF Yatesbury had been home to the famous Second World War Dambusters. read more

  I have noticed regular notification of Men Only breakfast meetings at the Bistro in Pewsey. read more

  WHILE visiting Pewsey on a narrow boat holiday last week I decided on one of the hottest days of the year to cool off in the local swimming pool. read more

  Regarding Mrs Blanchard's letter "Turn the music down," There is always a killjoy. We have this festival every two years and what a wonderful free event it is. Surely we can put up with a bit of loud music for one afternoon and one evening. read more

  Following a flurry of letters from the Trust for Devizes, Tesco has started work as promised on the refit of its rundown store in Maryport Street, and I imagine the opening of the new Marks and Spencer foodhall had something to do with this, too. read more
