FURTHER to the state of the river levels in 1947, the following extract from the Marlborough Official Guide 1928 might be of interest: "The level of the water-table in the chalk is slowly but steadily falling, and the upper reaches of the Kennet itself are now often dry in summer as far as Lockeridge or Fyfield. This has been especially noticeable since the Devizes waterworks were established at Shepherd's Shore." read more

HAVING attended the Kennet and North Wiltshire PCT Board meeting and listened to the proceedings, I was dismayed at the way the decision was reached to close all the in-patient beds at Devizes Community Hospital. read more

WHERE will people park while they build the shops on the central car park in Devizes? This construction will take several months and even longer if an underground car park is to be installed. read more
