WHILE I deplore the waste of council tax payers' money, not to mention the loss of so many parking spaces by moving bus shelters in Wootton Bassett so soon after installation (Gazette December 8), I do find Coun Thomas' comments regarding "joined up thinking" derisible. read more
IN paragraph seven of the article about the revamp of the Somerfield store at Malmesbury in last week's Gazette readers are told it was undertaken to enable the company to be able to "offer everything that customers want without the hassle of large customers'' I am left wondering where large customers are supposed to shop for their groceries and what Somerfield's definition is for such an individual? read more

I WONDER whose crazy idea it was to remove virtually all the shrubs from borders in John Coles Park. The Park Lane entrances to the park, which used to give all year round interest, are now either grassed over or barren soil. read more
MAY I thank the people of Devizes and District for their magnificent support in this year's Poppy Appeal. I will not have the final figure for another five months, but already we have banked £11,500. read more
