Archers produces a beer with bite

SWINDON-based Archers Brewery has produced an ale for pub company Barracuda.

Barracuda Bitter, which is 3.8 per cent, will be available at 83 of the group's 160 sites for a limited period.

Dave Spiller, a Barracuda area manager who is overseeing the initiative, said: "Real ale is growing in popularity and we are keen to offer customers a quality, cask ale that they will enjoy."

Barracuda plans to steadily increase its range of cask ales while investing in new cellar equipment and training for staff in a bid to capitalize on UK drinkers' growing enthusiasm for traditional beers.
