Dear Santa, Don't worry about toys, I just want my mummy and daddy to find me ....

Carla Hitch with the mystery letter"I JUST want my mummy and daddy to come and find me."

That is the Christmas wish one youngster, known only as Benedict, posted in his letter to Santa at the special post box at the Outlet Village.

Staff from the Toybox Junction Creche, who are sorting the mail and organising Santa's replies, came across the mystery note last week.

In his letter to Father Christmas, Benedict said: "I have a special wish. I do not want any chocolate cakes or toys, but just for my mummy and daddy to be thinking about me and to come and find me because I love them very much."

And manager Carla Hicks said it has touched the hearts of everyone who has read it.

They are now hoping to find the youngster behind the note.

"It breaks your heart to read a letter like that asking for Father Christmas to reunite a family," said Carla.

"He is not a child who has been in the crche as he is not in our records.

"And with such an unusual name we would have remembered him.

"There are quite a few refugee families in Swindon and a lot of people do get separated, so that may be what's happened in this case."

Carla said the note was written in junior school style handwriting.

"It is beautifully written and his punctuation is very good," said Carla.

"I've written him a little reply to say thank you very much for the lovely letter, and it is not often we receive such a thoughtful and well written note."

Staff think it is likely that Benedict lives in the Swindon area as the letter was posted during the week.

"At the weekend obviously we have a lot of people from all over coming into the centre and posting letters, but during the week it tends to be local people that visit. So I really do think Benedict could be quite close by."

Carla hopes Benedict will come back to the Outlet village so that staff at the crche can help to give him an extra special Christmas.

"We have a special question to ask that only Benedict will know the answer to," said Carla.

"It is something that is written in the letter so we will know whether it is him or not."

Anyone who has any information about Benedict should contact the crche on 01793 423456.
