Ladies fail to overcometheir rivals

Supermarine Ladies were defeated for the second time this season in a hard-fought home game against league rivals Trojans on Sunday, losing 17-12.

The home side started well, putting pressure on Trojans from the kick-off and soon found themselves with a scrum just five metres from the try line.

Unfortunately despite some excellent Supermarine scrummaging they were still unable to steal the ball.

Trojans were finally able to get the ball out quickly to pass it along their back line and to their winger who proceeded to score the first try of the game.

Supermarine allowed Trojans to run in a second try, before Sammy Way broke through the Trojan defensive line and scored a try, with Natalie Williams making the conversion.

The second half saw Trojans score a further try. Supermarine were finally able to use their possession late in the second half, with Shona Watt scoring the final try of the game with only a minute to spare.
