I read with great interest Coun Dobie's answer to my letter. We have lost two care homes in the last year that were perfectly all right and people were happy to be there.
The real answer is that the land can be sold off for more housing and the council will then have some more money to waste.
It has cost the taxpayer approximately £3.2 million to get into a situation where Social Services now have one star by bringing in the experts from other areas.
If we wanted three stars would the sum be £9.6m?
We also have the situation where the council spent £20,000 to see if the workforce was happy. If there was good management they would know if their employees were happy without this money.
Bed blocking last year had only eight persons, this year there are 42 persons.
These are just two things where money is wasted without mentioning any more.
I am very glad to see that Social Services have got one star but surely, if I remember the story, there were also three wise men following it.
