Lights switch-on was potential risk

I CONCUR with those who have written on the subject of the town centre light switch-on.

The event was disappointing in that the town's lights were not actually switched on very peculiar as that was what the event was really all about.

On the plus side, the council and town centre management can breath a sigh of relief that a potential disaster was avoided.

Not as testament to their effective event management but sheer good luck. The crowding and controls, safety and welfare of those attending was seriously compromised by their inaction.
