Matt on message in derby thriller

THE match of the day in the Premier Division between leaders Melksham Town Reserves and Corsham Town Reserves ended all square at 1-1.

Matt Messenger gave Melksham an interval lead, with Scott Evans equalising midway through the second half.

AFC Trowbridge Youth were surprisingly beaten by the only goal of the game by visitors Westbury United Reserves, Arron Lanfear scoring on the hour, and Pewsey Vale Reserves caused an upset at Warminster Town, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Paul Montague and Barry Flippance. Simon Mead replied for Warminster.

Westside moved into fourth spot in the table following their 6-1 win over visitors Devizes, despite conceding an early goal.

Aldbourne moved into second spot, a point behind the leaders Melksham, following their 2-0 win over Malmesbury Vics.

Marlborough Town gained a shock 2-0 away victory over second-in- the-table Down Ampney.

Bottom club Purton also fought well against New College before going down 4-2.

Junior Division One leaders Wroughton pulled five points clear of the chasing pack following their 4-2 away win over Blyskawica.

Barron Heating were beaten 2-1 at Pinehurst after leading 1-0 at the break. Marlborough Town Reserves beat Blunsdon United 3-2.

A hat-trick from Will Wood helped Minety to run out 5-2 winners over Westlecot and Swindon Asians were beaten at Biddestone 3-1.

Stratton Rovers Reserves regained the lead in Division Two after beating Westlecot Reserves 2-1.
