Warminster ready for switch-on

WARMINSTER will be lit up tonight when Santa arrives in town to switch on the Christmas lights. High Street will be closed from 6-7pm with the lights being turned on at 6.50pm.

A clown will be entertaining the crowds before Father Christmas arrives and sweets will be given out. The winner of the Warminster Christmas window display competition will also be announced.

Melksham's Christmas lights will be switched on tomorrow at 4pm. The Christmas fair is starting at 2.30pm in the Assembly Hall and the Market Place and then Santa will be riding into town on his sleigh.

The lights will be switched on by carnival princess Katherine Green. She will be joined by Sheila and Lisa Missen, in memory of Andy Missen who died earlier this year.
