Newport victory - Holmes' view

NICK Holmes was more than happy with his side's performance in their 3-0 FA Trophy victory against Newport County on Saturday.

Speaking after Saturday's game, he said: "I think it must have been a good game to watch."

The City boss hopes the Old Sarum club will be playing in County's Conference South set-up next season.

"I thought our team-work and our shape, that we've worked on so much in the past, was excellent.

"Everyone did a job today. I think individually we can play better, but as a collective unit it was a good display and you'd like to think that we can play against sides like those next season.

"You could see that football-wise they were a decent side. They were all comfortable on the ball, but with the possession we had, we always looked much more dangerous."

Asked who he would like to play in the next round, he said: "Anyone at home really. The bigger the better. It'd be nice to be tested again, bring 'em on. The bigger the better."

Monday's draw takes place at 11am.
