OAPs cared for very well

THE care services provided for older people by Wiltshire County Council have been highly rated by national inspectors.

The joint inspection by the Healthcare Commission, the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the Audit Commission took place between June and July and it concluded that most older people are served well and that there are excellent prospects for improvements.

The inspectors also looked at the work of other care providers serving people in the county. Their report concluded the organisations were working well together and that there was a strong culture of working with the public.

It also found there was a strong and well-supported voluntary and community sector and the county council's staff were committed and enthusiastic.
