Centre sites picked

THE locations of 14 children's centres have been agreed by Wiltshire County Council's Cabinet. The council has to established 20 children's centres by March 2008 on the instructions of the Government which has provided £7.2million.

The centres will integrate education, social care and health services for children under five and their families.

The following existing centres will be redesignated as children's centres: Corsham Lypiatt; Redland Primary School in Chippenham; Warminster, The Avenue; Melksham, Kings Park; Melksham, Queensway and Studley Green, Trowbridge.

New centres will be set up on the Southbroom Infants' School site in Devizes and St Paul's Primary School site in Chippenham. Other sites will be in Trowbridge, Salisbury, Westbury, Amesbury and Tidworth.

Other centres will be set up in Calne, Malmesbury, Wootton Bassett/Purton, Marlborough, Bradford-on-Avon and Downton and the precise locations will be decided by a cabinet member.
