Harrow Hill 0, Trowbridge Town 0

NEIL Kirkpatrick has warned his Trowbridge Town side they will have to stop the best striker in their league if they are to progress to the second round of the Hellenic League Cup tomorrow.

The Bees entertain Tytherington Rocks, kick off 2.30pm in case of extra time, and despite their lowly position in the Hellenic League Division One, Kirkpatrick knows they are still a dangerous side.

He said: "They have a striker called Jimmy Potts and he is without doubt one of the best strikers in our league.

"He was the league top scorer last season and I think he is already ahead in this season's charts despite them being in the bottom half of the table.

"We will go into the game as favourites but we certainly won't be taking anything for granted."

Kirkpatrick will be using the break from league action as a chance to play some fringe players and others returning from injury.

He said: "Sixteen-year-old Dan Kovacs will start as will our new signing Matt Taylor. I will also start Andy Bloodworth, who has been out injured for the past few weeks."

Trowbridge had to settle for a share of the points from their rearranged visit to Harrow Hill.

A very tight first half saw only two direct shots at goal both being saved comfortably by Andy Reid, the Harrow keeper, from Sean Daniells and Dave Percival.

Goalkeeper Adam Sheppard made a good save and clearance after 56 minutes and was grateful to see a shot from Clayton Hook clear the crossbar on the hour.

Sheppard saved again a minute later and Chris Tricker headed off the line following five consecutive Harrow Hill corners.

Trowbridge mounted some serious attacks during the final 30 minutes.

There were two good chances for Trowbridge with 20 minutes remaining. Matt Cooper was denied by an excellent last-ditch tackle by a defender and Adrian Barnes struck a vicious shot over the bar shortly afterwards.

In the end a fair result although Trowbridge may have won the match had they taken their first half chances.
