Ducks' toddle waddle

Mums and toddlers from Brinkworth practise the waddle 17683/1BRINKWORTH Parent and Toddler Group is hoping to take a step forward in the fight against meningitis by holding a sponsored toddle waddle.

On Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm, around ten tots will walk around the village hall as many times as they can, wearing duck masks and carrying Meningitis Trust balloons.

Organiser Natasha Chesterman said the group wanted to raise as much money as it can.

Mrs Chesterman, from Barnes Green, a nurse at Great Western Hospital, Swindon, said her two-year-old son, James, and 20-month-year-old nephew, Ben Dodson, will be taking part.

Mrs Chesterman said: "I have treated children who have had meningitis. Hopefully if people come we can raise a lot of money."

As well as the sponsored toddle waddle, there will also be other attractions such as a ducky dip, raffle, silent auction, cake stall and refreshments.

The group meets on Thursdays from 9.30am to 11.30am in the village hall.
