Art show accountants claim they are human

AN accountancy firm has put modern art in its office. The abstract works by Bourton artist Julie Waldron have been well received by staff and customers at Morris Owen in Old Town.

The art is part of the company's rebranding, which has seen the offices refurbished and a new letterhead.

Partner Rob Harman said: "We are trying to shake off the stuffy image of accountants.

"We are not just people in dark rooms with calculators we have a human feel as well.

"The artworks have become a talking point, and are so eye-catching they rarely need introducing."

The art project came about after Rob met Julie at an exhibition of Julie's art in Bourton this summer.

He decided Julie's art was just what was needed to spice up the interview rooms and corridors of the firm's offices which are now acting as a gallery for her work.

Mr Harman said: "Julie is now getting the access to the sort of clientele she is looking for by showing off the art in our offices, and each time another painting is sold, she will produce more paintings so there will be a revolving collection in the offices."
