Glittering centenary occasion

FAMILY jewellery business HR Tribbeck & Son celebrated its 100th anniversary with a glittering occasion in Salisbury's Guildhall.

Suppliers and customers joined staff from the Bridge Street store at the centenary gala show on Thursday night.

The star attraction was a grand raffle for a £7,000 pendant, made exclusively for the celebration by designer Christopher Wharton.

The winner of the raffle, which raised more than £9,000 for Salisbury Hospice, was presented with her prize by Roland Tribbeck, grandson of Herbert Tribbeck who founded the business with his brother, Frank, in 1905.

"We were surprised and delighted with the response to the raffle - I had to keep on adjusting the target we hoped to reach and we still surpassed it," said Mr Tribbeck, who runs the business with his wife, Janet, and daughter, Rachel.

"It was a lovely occasion, with music, champagne and canaps.

"Our suppliers got to show a range of beautiful jewellery and it was a great party, fitting for our centenary."
