Think global, act local

RESIDENTS throughout Wiltshire are being urged to save the planet by being more energy conscious at home.

As the polar ice caps melt, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is assuring county people that just fitting low-energy light bulbs and using less water in your kettle can make a difference.

The trust's Energy Efficiency Advice Centre is bringing its roadshow to venues across the county in the next week to ask people to take the pledge to :

avoid overfilling kettles;

switch off the TV and don't leave it on standby ;

turn down the thermostat by one degree Celsius;

install cavity wall insulation;

ask a friend to make the pledge as well.

The roadshow will be at Buttercross, Chippenham on Wednesday, Devizes Market Place on Thursday and the Swindon Designer Outlet Centre on Friday.
