SWINDON Talisman anglers did well individually at ISIS AC's waters at Sutton Benger in the second round of the Angling Times League (Upper Thames Division) on Sunday.
They took first, second and fifth place but didn't win the top team on the day.
Top team was Turners Tackle and Bait who took 79 section points three better than Talisman and four better than FAps S West (Devizes), who are now tying with Turners at the top of the league.
Richard Stephens took top spot with 48-2-0 of bream from an area not known as a bream area just below the railway bridge. He used pole and worm as hookbait.
This area also produced the third placed weight courtesy of Martin Hook (Mosella) 27-1-0 and fourth spot from Malcolm Ockwell 20-1-8. John Bohane, who took the second spot, was pegged in the prolific eighties and took 39lb of bream. Fifth was Mark Kimber (Talisman) 19-13-8 and sixth was Brian Ballard (P O Radcot) 19-3-0.

Liden AC Charity Open in aid of their Juniors: 1 Vern Woods 8-8-0; 2 Mick Rees 7-14-0. £164 was raised towards the Juniors.
Highworth AC Pairs Cup at Roughgrounds and Bloomers. The top three pairs all had nine section points but weight gave the overall win to Brian Holness and Terry Winter 18-3-0. Second was Barry Wood and Dave Bryant 5-10-0 and third was Norman Reeves and T Reeves 4-8-0.
Trevor Wyse Dynamite Baits has won another Open, this time at the Tuesday Bodington Match with 159-13-0 of carp using a method feeder and dead maggots.

October 12 (15 fished): 1 match organiser Peter Gilbet (peg 27) four tench and some perch for 18-12-0 on the pole; 2 Pete Townsend one large chub, bream and bits 13lb (peg 75); 3 Vorn Bohane two tench and perch 12-2-0; 4 Martin Hutchins all roach 12-10-0.
The Golden Peg is not yet won and now stands at £150.

Young Tom Brabazon included a pike of 4-11-0 in his winning 16-6-0 catch to win The Three Counties Match at Peatmoor using a pole and maggot hook bait. Second was Matthew Freeman 9-5-0 followed by his sister Danielle with 3-4-0.
