Fisher quits at Highworth

JOHN Fisher sensationally walked out on Highworth last night after the fallen Hellenic League champions hit a new low.

Fisher strolled away from the dug-out during the second half of a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Pegasus Juniors and confirmed his resignation after the game.

He said: "I love the club and I'm sorry to go, but I haven't got anything left in me. The time is right for someone to come in with fresh ideas."

Andy Wollen will take temporary charge at the Elms until a replacement is named.

n SWINDON Supermarine's injury-time equaliser at Hemel Hempstead on Saturday counted for nothing as Mark Collier's men lost their FA Trophy replay at Hunts Copse.

Marine went out at the first qualifying round stage with a whimper, losing 1-0 against a side that played more than half of the game with 10 men.

Darren Sarll was given his marching orders for two bookings the second a rash tackle on Steve Davies.

But by then Sarll had already done the damage, heading home the only goal of the game after half an hour.

Marine failed to make anything of their man advantage in the second half and lost the chance of a money-spinning home tie with Chippenham in the next round.

The Bluebirds did their bit to set up a Wiltshire derby in the next round with a 3-1 replay win over Cinderford.

Darren Perrin's enforced gamble of playing a second string side paid off ahead of the pending FA Cup trip to Basingstoke as Josh Jefferies, recalled Brazilian Gianni and Alan Griffin all netted their first Chippenham goals.
