Restaurants help schools

Rafu's restaurants in Highworth in Swindon are helping local schools finance projects through a voucher scheme.

Customers eating at Rafu's restaurants receive a 50p voucher when they pay their bill.

The voucher can be passed to any of the participating schools.

Steve Weisinger, Highworth's mayor, said: "Periodically the schools will return the vouchers to Rafu. On receipt of the returned vouchers Rafu will make a cheque out to the school.

"I would like to say thank you to Rafu for this scheme.

"It shows how a business can help put something back into the community."

Schools participating in the scheme include Warneford and Kingsdown secondary schools, Eastrop, Northview, Southfield, Westrop primary schools in Highworth, as well as Shrivenham and Watchfield primary schools.
