Calm networking

A NETWORKING group that started in Swindon has spread its wings to London.

NRG first met in the Swallow Hotel in South Marston last year, and soon expanded to Cheltenham, Bristol and Reading.

Now the firm has struck a deal with Thistle Hotels to launch networking groups in The Barbican, Charing Cross, Kensington and Bond Street as of Tuesday.

NRG is the brainchild of Martin Davies, a former IBM marketing executive, and Kim Sharman, a former Cathay Pacific captain, both of whom live in Wiltshire.

"Not enough was being done for people who didn't like breakfast networking or felt nervous about meeting people.

"Rigid discipline is not relevant for adult business people. Yet research shows networking is the best way to gain more business," said Mr Davies. "We have created a more relaxed way of networking that concentrates on building relationships."
