Access hits council rating

WEST Wiltshire District Council has been given one star out of a possible three in an independent review carried out by the Audit Commission on how easy it is for people to access services.

The report states people living in the district report a high level of satisfaction with the council but access can be difficult for some due to the location of the council's offices at Bradley Road and the lack of disabled access to some buildings.

An associated review of Wiltshire County Council found overall levels of satisfaction have risen over the past three years and improvements have been made with regard to access to services but not all buildings are accessible to the disabled.
