Disruption on train services

Essential engineering work on First Great Western routes this weekend will disrupt travel for many rail customers, who are advised to check train times and plan journeys.

Between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads on Saturday and Sunday, services will be diverted with a rail shuttle running between Swindon, Chippenham and Bath Spa. Replacement road transport will run between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.

Network Rail is also carrying out engineering work between Plymouth and St Austell on Sunday, October 9. First Great Western services will start and terminate at Plymouth with replacement road transport running between Plymouth and St Austell. A rail shuttle service will operate between St Austell and Penzance.

Other engineering work this weekend includes Hayes and Harlington to Slough on Saturday and Sunday.

Replacement road transport will also operate on Sunday between Cardiff Central and Swansea, and between Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa.
