A CHARITY ball in memory of a young mother who died from breast cancer will be held at the Assembly Hall in Warminster this autumn.
The Pink Party has been organised by friends of Fiona Akers, who died aged 33 after a four-year battle with the disease.
Her friends have formed a group called Pink Positive in order to raise awareness of breast cancer and to help others suffering from the disease.
All proceeds from the party, which has been sponsored by World of Pine in Salisbury, will go to Dorothy House, which has been providing support for Mrs Akers' husband Adam and her daughters Grace and Jessica since her death in July.
Pink Positive member Bridget Linham said: "Fiona was a local girl and we wanted to organise an event that all her friends could attend.
A charity calendar called Men of Warminster will be on sale at the party, featuring revealing poses from local fireman, dentists and the town crier.
Guests will be entertained by local band The Full Motley and will also have chance to win some fantastic raffle prizes including a weekend break in London, Center Parcs tickets and a Christmas hamper.
Tickets for the event on November 12 cost £12.50 and can be purchased from the Warminster Assembly Hall, Linham's Butchers or Warminster solicitors Middleton and Upsall.
The following week a corporate ball will be held at the Assembly Rooms, Bath, for which tickets cost £75.
