Bradford Town 1, Chard Town 1

MARK Hodkinson was left with mixed feelings on Saturday after his rapidly improving Bradford Town side stretched their unbeaten run to five matches.

A dismal start to their first ever season in the Toolstation League Division One had fans and neutrals fearing the worst, but in recent weeks they have started to show the form that earned them promotion out of the Wiltshire League.

Hodkinson admitted before Saturday's game he would happily have taken a point from the clash but by the final whistle he was left relecting on a several missed opportunities.

He said: "Chard are an experienced side at this level and after struggling for a couple of seaons they seem to be a lot stronger this time round.

"We scored a good goal but we then got caught on the counter attack with about 10 minutes left for them to equalise with a sloppy goal.

"We have to learn to keep switched on at all times because at this level you know you will get punished."

A 20 yard free kick from Steve Wickens gave Bradford the lead minutes after half-time.
