SCOTT Evans has quit Biddestone less than two months after joining them claiming he was not enjoying their long ball style of play.
Evans, a prolific goalscorer in Sunday League football, joined Biddestone in the summer after impressing last campaign for Corsham Town Reserves in the Wiltshire League.
He now admits the switch was a mistake and is targeting a return to the Southbank on his return from a two week holiday in Gran Canaria.
He said: "One of the reasons I joined Biddestone was because my grandad was president there, but he has resigned now and so that is one factor out of the way.
"Also I went there as a favour to the previous manager Gary Skidmore. But the moment I saw Leo and Paul Rose had come in to help I thought it was inevitable he would be out of a job after about four weeks.
"The main reason though is that I was not enjoying my football at Biddestone. The ball was being lumped up to me and I like receiving the ball on the floor. It was frustrating playing for them, especially getting hammered every week, and I just felt I would be better off away from the club."
Evans, who plays for Christian Malford in the Chippenham and District Sunday League, hopes he will get the chance to return to Corsham.
He said: "I really enjoyed it there last season. We had a good team spirit and won the league and everything was going well for me there. I should have stayed there and hopefully will go back."
