Gingell's young guns march on

WILTSHIRE U18s ran out comfortable 3-0 winners on Saturday over their Cambridgeshire counterparts despite having five first choice players missing through injury.

The Wiltshire team dominated the game at Histon with a superb performance to move into the second round of the FA County Cup.

Warminster Town's Alex Lapham opened the scoring after 20 minutes and Westbury United's Aaron Billett secured the win with two smart finishes in the last 20 minutes.

It leaves Wiltshire facing another away tie to either Gloucestershire or Herefordshire in the next round with the teams set to meet at Cirencester Town on Sunday.

Manager Mel Gingell said he would now have a selection headache for the next game against Dorset in the Mick Parry Cup on October 11.

He said: "We played brilliantly. The early goal gave us something to play with.

"I went up with all the players out and I was scared we wouldn't do well but the team put in a lot of effort and a good solid performance.

"Now it is obviously going to be difficult for me to pick the team for the next game."
