Nicki Styles with son BrandonA SWINDON mum is holding an auction to raise money for her forthcoming trek along the Great Wall of China.
Nicki Styles, 31, and her aunt Gillian Hoare, 41, are setting off for the trip on October 8 to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
They are inviting people to bid for a signed Swindon Town football, two match day tickets and the new England rugby shirt.
Nicki's five-year-old son Brandon receives regular treatment at the Great Ormond Street Hospital.
He was born with a life-threatening metabolic disorder, which only affects 28 other people in the country.
Because he is missing an enzyme from his liver he is unable to break down ammonia and has to take medication every six hours.
He was diagnosed with the condition at eight hours old and spent the first two weeks of his life in intensive care.
Nicki said: "We are really close to the trek now but are hoping people will help us on our final push to get enough money together to go on the trek. We have had a lot of support from people leading up to the trek and now we're just hoping we can raise the final amount of money."
Throughout the year the two women have embarked on a host of fundraising pursuits, including bag packing at Asda, walking on a treadmill and band nights.
If you would like to bid for the items call Gillian on 01793 348756.
