The late, late summer fete proves a big hit

Edward Brant, five, hooks a duck Ref: 99429-38ORGANISERS may have had to delay the Nythe Primary school summer fete for three months but the crowds still flocked in.

Attractions included a bouncy castle, fun fair, stalls, swing boats, trampolines and a giant slide.

And while the children were racing around, mums and dads could enjoy a drink from the licensed bar and a nibble from the barbecue.

Adver mascot Alfie the Alligator also attended.

Debbie Black, the chairwoman of the Friends of Nythe School (FONS), said the day had been great.

"We had been worried about the weather as it had rained on Friday but it was perfect," she said.

"We had a really good turnout and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

"Overall I think it went really well."

More than £900 was raised at the event and every penny goes to the school to pay for items such as books, painting equipment and climbing frames.

The members of FONS would like to thank everyone who went along and supported the school.
