MP enjoys radio station tour

VOLUNTEERS at Swindon's new community radio station have given a Swindon MP a tour of their Queens Drive studios.

When south Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove contacted Swindon Community Broadcasting and asked to be shown around, they jumped at the chance.

Station programmer Shirley Ludford, said: "It was an excellent visit and I think it was more rewarding because the request to be shown around came from her.

"She was very interested in the project and said she would support us 100 per cent."

The station is nearing the end of its four-week temporary licence but will be applying to Ofcom to become a permanent fixture on the airwaves.

Listeners can tune into the station 24 hours a day at 106.8FM until September 30.
