SO if you are a Lord and friend of the heir to the throne, you can get a planning application through that has been opposed by a great many people and is against local planning guidelines (Cash-strapped Lansdowne wins planning battle, Sep 15).

It makes a mockery of the local planning laws and democracy, and North Wiltshire District Council should be ashamed.

Feudalism is alive and well in north Wiltshire.
