Caring Ian's blond locks raise cash for charity

CARING Ian Grimes, whose mum Christine died from cancer, decided he wanted to do something to raise money for research into the disease.

So Ian (29) took up a dare and had his brown hair dyed blonde at hairdressers Toni and Guy, in Salisbury.

He raised £400 in sponsorship for Cancer Research UK, and last Thursday Ian, of Pollen Close, Figheldean, was back in the chair at Toni and Guy.

This time to hand over his cheque to local Cancer Research UK charity shop manger Kathryn Dreyer - and to receive a special certificate of appreciation from Kathryn.

Ian said: "I now aim to do it again next year for another charity, perhaps Macmillan Nurses."
