Having second thoughts John?

NO PLACE TO HIDE for Highworth boss John Fisher during his side's 3-1 loss on Saturday Ref: 99321-19JOHN Fisher admits that he may have done the wrong thing extending his stay in the Highworth hotseat.

He was tipped to walk away on top after guiding his team to the Hellenic Premier Division last season, but decided to stay on.

After Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Didcot that's not looking like such a good idea.

It was Highworth's third defeat in four games and leaves them in the bottom five, albeit with games in hand.

But Fisher is not about to walk away now.

"I went into the bar after the game and everybody thinks they're a manager. I was taking more flak than Sven Goran Eriksson.

"People say to me I should have left after winning it last season. Maybe I should have done.

"But I'm happy to deal with the pressure. I thrive on it and I will turn it around.

"I'm not happy with the score obviously, but it was the best we've played for quite for a while.

We had a couple of lapses at the back and against any other side we'd have got away with it"

Stuart Bellinger scored Highworth's goal just before the break but they were already two adrift by that point and the visitors added a third on the hour to maintain their 100 per cent start to the campaign.

Goals from Steve Tucker and Mark King brought about Wootton Bassett's first away win of the year, 2-0 at Hook Norton in Division One West.

The first half produced little in front of goal with both defences holding firm.

The deadlock was broken on the stroke of half-time when good work from Moses Greene allowed Stu Hemsley the room to cut the ball back across goal and after a couple failed clearances the ball fell to Tucker who tapped in from six yards.

Mark Ward went close for the home side just after the break but his glancing header trickled wide of the far post.

King settled the nerves in injury time as he produced a fine solo goal, coolly slotting past William Johnson after taking the ball through the Hook Norton defence.

Cirencester United were hammered 6-1 by leaders Winterbourne, Richard Hadgkiss on target.

Late goals from Ian Ross and Martin Swadden were not enough to rescue Cricklade from a 3-2 defeat at Tytherington. Purton lost 1-0 at home to Headington.

n Goalkeeper Jez Hare was Devizes' star man on Saturday despite conceding eight goals.

Hare pulled off a number of fine saves to prevent champions Bideford hitting double figures in the Toolstation Premier Division.

Former Supermarine man Aaron Blakemore was among the goals and Andy Watkins bagged a couple.

Marcus Wallen pulled one back for Devizes but it was of little consolation.

Biddestone fared better in the First Division, drawing 1-1 at home to Chard.

Joe Ochucko put the hosts ahead but Adam Watson scored a deserved equaliser on the hour.
