Bike riders wheel in the cash for nurses

THIRTEEN staff from Monahans Chartered Accountants and Independent Financial Advisers set off on their annual bike ride supporting local charities or local branches of national charities.

The team set off on the 72-mile ride from Monahans' Glastonbury branch and cycled through Wiltshire, stopping on route to pick up new riders at company offices in Trowbridge and Chippenham.

It led to a total of 18 people arriving at the final destination in Swindon

The ride, which took place on Thursday, September 14, is set to benefit Cancer Research UK this year.

In previous years the ride has raised money for Hearing Dogs For Deaf People and for the Macmillan Nurses.

Stephen Fry, a senior partner in the firm, said "I'm delighted by the enthusiasm shown by everyone.

"There's a great amount of positive team spirit and dedication for a very good cause."

Last year's ride brought in more than £4,000 for the Macmillan Nurses and it is hoped that the riders will beat that total this year.
